Duke Women's Basketball

I had the misfortune of watching a good portion of the Womens Game against South Carolina. About as poorly coached a team as I have seen. Players did not seem to know where they were, where they were supposed to be, or what to do. Over 30 turnovers, which is a lot even for this turnover prone team. If this game does not incentivize a coaching change, nothing will.

I think most of us who support Duke sports have kind of tuned out the women's program which is a shame because it used to be one of the leading programs at the school. I don't like to be negative about Duke coaches so I choose to ignore the team, which may be the worst indictment of the program.

The last few times I went to CTC they have a young lady who tries to rally support for DUKE fans to come to the games, I remember one yr the young lady made the comment that if you come you'll have plenty of leg room.. SMH. That has to be demoralizing knowing people will give up their first born child for men's tickets but you cant give away the women. I'm one of those guilty fans, I live in Durham and haven't been to a women's game in yrs. I miss Coach G and what she brought to the table. Maybe this coach will right the ship.

Years ago a buddy of mine used to buy season tickets to Duke football because they would you give season tickets to women’s basketball. This was like 10 or so years ago before Cutcliffe became the coach when our football team was absolutely horrible, so my buddy would buy season tickets for football just because he wanted the season tickets for women’s basketball and when he would go to the women’s games he either sat right behind or right next to the scorers table and when whoever the person was that made announcements needed a break for whatever reason, they would get my buddy to make the announcements for them until they got back their break.

I miss Coach G too... she had our women's program absolutely rolling. Didn't we beat UConn two out of three at one point? Multiple final fours... I have no doubt we would've won a national title if we'd done more to keep her.

What's going on now is an utter embarrassment. Can anyone shed light on why in the hell Kevin White hasn't done something about this?

This coach has been sinking the ship. We need a new skipper.

I think we all miss Coach G but she made the choice to move on. Shec had called lifetime job at Duke and would have continued to be very succesful maybe a natty by now. Does anyone know where she is at now.?OFC

Same could be said of the gradual slide of the football team. White refuses to step in and make any changes in staff. I use to have faith in White, but now beginning to think he's either LAZY or JUST DOESNT CARE the way many fans do...

For a school with the resources of Duke, we should have ponied up in my opinion. She made us one of the top 3 or 4 women's programs at the time and I honestly believe she POTENTIALLY could have had us supplanting UConn as the top women's program.

A lot of rumors floating around the WBB pool. My ex and kids have season tix. They are friends with a guy who donates a shit ton to WBB and MBB. The rumor form what he will tell is she is gone. They let a recruiter and coach go who was a friend of my daughter. Apparently he wanted to move up (from what I hear) and the higher ups said Bye! Rumor mill is she’s gone but I’m not sure if they’re waiting on a certain coach or grooming someone. I’m not a fan. I’ve been to games where they’d be down by 10. Put in a different 5 go up by 13. Take out that 5 and lose by 16. How???

I sure hope we don't see a similar downward spiral with the men program after the GOAT hangs it up. Jeeze.
