Oddly, I feel better about this game then I did the Robert Morris game. It's not that I ever truly thought RM would beat us, it just felt like we needed to make a statement to get that proverbial monkey off our back. We did in a big way.

On to round two (or three what the frick ever lol). A solid San Diego State team who sports a good statistical defensive game - in a midmajor conference - and who is borderline inept on the offensive end.

All said, basketball is about match-ups and I like this match-up. They're going to try to grind it out on us and keep the scoring low. We'll try to play fast with them and get the scoring up. It's all going to come down to who controls the tempo and who hits shots.

I'm pretty confident it'll be us and we'll be off to the Sweet Sixteen.

Right now Vegas has us at -9.5 - Vegas is right an absolutely absurd amount of the time. I like that line.

Game is slated for a 2:40pm est tip on CBS.

Just like with my opening game post, I will not be picking a score. This team is scary on defense, but we have something to prove on that end as well. I look for our guys to come out pumped up and ready to go. This team has seen great defenses this year and have responded well. Let's hope that trend continues tomorrow. I will say this, San Diego State hasn't seen an offense quite like ours yet this season and I think we may surprise them with how well we actually share the ball. If we do the things that I know we do well then this team can when this game and we will be going to the sweet sixteen. Plus, I don't want to hear about how the holes and State made it that far and we didn't. We have to continue the domination that ACC has showed so far. This is a tough game and I think we will have our hands full, but, I also think we will win if we do what got us here. Already a number one seed has fallen, we don't want to make it two. Passion, fire, intensity, heart, focus, we are a FIST!!!!! LET'S GO DUKE!!!!!

I believe this will be a war. The Aztecs are long and athletic. Their defense is stingy...think they've held 42 straight opponents (back to last season of course) to less than 50% shooting. If they get hot from 3 (and they're capable of it), then it could get dicey). They lost to Arizona (neutral court) by 2, 61-59, and held them to 36% shooting. Thank goodness fts are a problem for them too...less than 63% as a team.
Duke has to share the ball very well, and make the extra pass to get quality shots (they have 9 players 6-6 or taller). Jah has to punish them on the inside. Need to take care of the ball, and not let them turn turnovers into easy points.

Tough game. Duke's lack of defense is going to be tested in every game from here on out. I think they will have to be very good on offense to win again.

Duke should be favored - but at this point in the tourney any game is tough and a team could go down.

SDSU is long and athletic and very good on defense. It will be a struggle at times for Duke on offense. But, we have so many weapons, Duke should be able to find ways to score some points and make some shots. Especially if we get chances to run some on the break. SDSU really does struggle to shoot it and that should help us. May look ugly at times today, but Duke will have a couple of spurts that wins this one. Fairly low scoring

As long as we talk on defense, be aggressive, stay together, and not let them get into their comfort zone, Duke wins going away. If we don't do these things, it will be a very tight game, but I still think we pull it off.

I'm nervous about this game for some reason, SDSU didn't look that great Friday but on of their guards was playing with food poisoning and should be a lot better today. We know when teams see that Duke jersey in front of them they bring everything they got so they can say they beat the Blue Devils. As long as Duke brings their intensity and limits turnovers I say they win by 12.

Good start. You can tell that SDSU struggles to score. If we can get this 6-0 lead and make it double digits early, we should be in great shape. Not sure they can comeback if down too much. We can end this now if we can stay focused.
