Tonight should be an interesting matchup against Eastern Michigan. Vegas took heed after our game against Army and tonight's spread is around -25 depending on which sportsbook you look at.

The Swoops come in at 3-0 with wins over an NCAA II team, Drexel and an NAIA team - so it's tough to really gauge where they're at.

I like Duke to cover in tonight's matchup - which is scheduled to tip at 7pm est and will air on the ACC Network (or ESPN +).

Duke 98

Eastern Michigan 69

GO DUKE!!!!!!!!!

Again, these young men face something new. This team will be bigger and they play a ton of zone. A nice lil warmup for the Cuse. Interested to see how our stars respond. The 3 ball will be big in this one. Look for better concentration in this one and I think RJ is our leading scorer in this one. Cams gonna be smoking hot again with the 3 ball. Duke 89-61 .

I think Eastern ends up in heavy foul trouble early trying to keep RJ and Zion out of that zone D.

Interesting matchup here for Duke. Can’t wait to see how K decides to play against the zone. Guessing he will want to try a few things out. Wouldn’t expect a well oiled machine but i hope we can get a lot of offensive boards. I can’t remember what i predicted on 5PointPlaypodcast (shameless plug) but I’ll go with that. Listen in to find out what that prediction was.

Their Center, Toure, is 6’ 11” 241 pounds. The pg Jackson is their scorer though, need to keep him in check.

Duke 98
EMU 64

The defense looks much better than Sunday.

I am among those looking forward to seeing how we attack a zone. You gotta figure some ACC teams (in addition to 'Cuse) will try it against us. Will it be all three point shooting? Or (please, please, please) can we see slashing drives to the rim???

Duke covers after a sluggish start;

Duke 98
EMU 72

Duke 102
EMU 68

Zion, RJ and Cam all end up with their third straight 20 point games and Tre has between 6-8 assists.

It’s going to be hard to break 100 against the zone, but the team will be focused on D I guarantee. I’d like to see them hold the Eagles under 60.

I like RJ just inside the zone creating collapses then kicking. He's also good at cutting from there.

Will be interesting to see if Duke "attacks" the zone (which I think they will) and not settle for 3's, and also if we can rebound against their size and stay out of foul trouble. If these things happen it will be over sooner than later, but even as good as these kids are, they are still Freshmen and may take time to adjust. Love to see this team in transition, and when they get into it, it's not good for the opponent or their morale!
Duke will roll tonight.
Go Duke!

The best way to beat a zone is to beat it down the court and never allow it to set up. Look for us to push tempo and grab the ball out of the net the few times our opposition puts it through there.

We make up for a not so strong showing against Army, and crush EMU. DUKE by a bunch!!!

I think Zion will roam the middle of the zone. I think he's tough to defend at the elbows.

Zion in the middle of the zone is probably the best option for now. I would love to see Javin finally have a good hustle game. He needs it.

Duke slept on Army, I think. Hopefully the first half of that game helped them realized they need to not underestimate any opponent.

I don't think they struggle at any point tonight.

Duke 91
EM 69

Screw the 3, attack the zone. Put RJ in the middle and facilitate.

Duke 82
Bad guys 71

They did this a lot last time we saw zone... RJ at the foul line, and as soon as he got the ball he spun and shot. Didn’t work great then, but I expect it will.

We absolutely demolished UK’s attempts to play zone against us. But that’s mainly because we were raining 3’s.
