Does anyone know how Mike Irby from THR is doing in his battle against cancer?

Hope he's well. I've had my issues with the Hole fans, but I wish no one has to deal with cancer.

I saw a thread over there a couple days ago. He said he recently spent a week at Duke for daily treatment but there's no set date for his transplant and they haven't found a donor match yet either.

Crank I just hate to hear his disease called cancer as the word itself sounds so bad it can worry a person to death. The paragraph below will tell you a little about the disease which is named Myleodysplastic Syndrome or MDS for short. I pasted this extremely simplified description of the disease from a MDS website. My personal opinion is that Mike will beat the disease or at least live with it many more good years and continue to be a thorn in our side by supporting those Tar Hole Power Puff Darlings. At least I hope so because he's a pretty nice guy once you get to know him.

Approximately 13,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with MDS each year. MDS is rare in people younger than 40, and most people who are diagnosed with MDS are older than 60. Death from MDS is often caused by bleeding and infection from low blood cell counts or after the disease becomes acute myeloid leukemia (AML). About one third of patients with MDS develop AML.

Yeah, that's what I saw also. I was hoping they would have a donor match by now. I've been meaning to email him, but I figure he's got a lot on his mind. Mike, if you're reading, take care, and I'm still praying for you. God bless you and your family.
