While trying to look around and determine which players in the ACC can use five years to play because of the Covid year, I read that some are saying Puff Johnson down the road has 3 more years left. So, I looked him up and this was his second year playing for UNC. I thought you had to be on the roster for the 2019-2020 season that had the NCAA tournament canceled, in order to get a free year.
I don't see how someone that was a freshman for the 2020-2021 (last season) season, which was not interrupted by Covid, can still get the extra year of eligibility? If this is true, then Jeremy Roach would have five seasons as well.
Can someone shed some light on this, because if Puff has three more years left, then so does Caleb Love and RJ Davis. While I don't like to obsess over those in the wrong shade of blue, I definitely don't want to see those players for three more years. And, knowing those guys, they would all stay that long.
