Coach K Tree ... er ... Forest!

“There are 10 former players and/or assistants of Krzyzewski's who currently hold Division I head-coaching positions: Notre Dame's Mike Brey, Pitt's Jeff Capel, Northwestern's Chris Collins, Marquette's Steve Wojciechowski, Arizona State's Bob Hurley, UCF's Johnny Dawkins, Harvard's Tommy Amaker, Howard's Kenny Blakeney, Niagara's Greg Paulus and Elon's Mike Schrage.

Then there are the NBA types. Quin Snyder is head coach of the Jazz, Elton Brand is general manager of the Sixers, Trajan Langdon is GM of the Pelicans, Shane Battier is vice president of analytics and development for the Heat, and Grant Hill is part owner of the Hawks. Last but far from least, the Coach K tree includes the current assistants: Nate James, Jon Scheyer, Chris Carrawell and Nolan Smith. That's not a tree -- it's a coaching forest.”

An impressive testimony to the development of human beings by Coach K. They were good guys coming into the program but he really helped them develop.

it's interesting that not one of the coaching tree has consistently found success. Wojo seems to be doing pretty well and now Capel is (obviously!) excelling at Pitt. But can they maintain it? Collins couldn't at NW.

Hurley was fined for chastising the officials publicly recently. I love his passion for the game and his players.

Good question ... I had to look that up. He is no longer an NBA exec. I think it was 2017 when he was relieved of duties. Apparently he does a sports radio talk show in Philly.
