Hello All,

New poster, long time Dookie. Bought tix to the Houston regional (where I live) expecting (knock on wood) to see the Dookies play in sweet 16 and elite 8.

First fell in love with the team at the age of 10 in 2001 (Battier, Boozer, J. Williams, Dunleavy, Duhon, Ewing, etc.) and have been a diehard ever since.

That being said, having watched 100's of games over the years, have always been fascinated by Bobby Hurley. Was too young to remember or appreciate him, but watching his games, he never seemed the most athletic or talented player, but played intelligently.

Anyone remember him the same way?

Anyone remember him the same way?I hope you are a Duke fan. Whether you are or not you need to learn how to spell two words. Duke and Dukie. No offense. OFC

Ha, I spell it that way as a subtle/stoopid joke.
True Duke fans do not take that spelling as a joke, just for a point of reference. OFC

I am a true Duke fan and I could care less how someone spells our name. If "dook" bothers you, it is only going to make the haters do it more. Why give them ammunition?

Because I want to, simple as that. I don't like Dook, you do, fine. OFC

Anyways, Bobby Hurley was an awesome dude. Would've loved to see him play out his NBA career. Same with J-Will. 2 of the best Duke PGs ever

Ok, Let's see how long Hurley hangs with us and his future post. It won't take long to figure it out. OFC

X's 2. Loved to watch Bobby play. Full of spunk and attitude to go with it. Did not back down from no one. Oh yea and he was also one of the best PGs Coach K has ever had. I will never forget how high I jumped when he hit the biggest 3 in his career against UNLV. Still makes me giddy inside. He was one of the greats period.

True. Year after year we hear about and see Laettner's great shot against Kentucky, but for my money, Bobby Hurley hit the greatest shot in Duke history. If he does not can that three-pointer, Duke more than likely does not capture it's first National Championship. OFc

IMO Bobby was the best pg we have ever had.Kyrie without the injury may have challenged him. He was more athletic than you are giving him credit for

I'm with the OFC on this one, there are some jokes and things that slide... but "Duke" fans calling ourselves dook or dookie is note.

That is simply never acceptable from a Duke fan and to understand why is to be a true Duke fan. It shouldn't need explaining.

Bingo...100% agree.

Same here. OFC

Plus, you get a red squiggly line under the word when you spell it that way, because they aren't words recognized by our dictionary.

I had this conversation with a friend of mine that's a Duke fan that referred to us as Dookies and he said he does it to show opposing fans that it doesn't bother him when they call us Dookies. I left it at that because I didn't feel like starting a debate with him about it.
