Any Chance Baker Burns Redshirt?

If Tre is out a couple of months as it seems, we need the shooting clearly. He will get minutes and after a half season of practice, he is likely better prepared physically.

We may need him just for the depth. You could see at the end of the game last night, we were just out of gas. We’ll get Cam back which will help a lot in that regard as he is accustomed to playing a ton of minutes, but we don’t have any bench guys who can go as many minutes as Tre so it may be need to be spread out some.

This is why I didn’t want Baker to redshirt! He’s one of the better shooters on the team and he also provides added depth!

Because Tre is out we want to burn a redshirt for our 6’7” forward? Because he can shoot? I guess I don’t follow the logic behind that.

Cam will be back and his 35 minutes will take a ton of pressure off the others.

I understand the question and even wondered about it myself, but I don't think they will. He doesn't solve the PG problem, so no need to burn it. Jack and Alex have to play better.

Nothing on our current roster solves the PG problem. The question is how do we fill Tre's minutes. It might be that we just need another body to eat up Tre's minutes. Or perhaps RJ/Cam become the PGs and we need another forward to sub for them to keep them fresh and make sure one is one the floor at all times.

A lot of knee jerk reactions. As always after a loss. We don't need Baker any more or any less today than we did yesterday. We lost last night not only because of not having Tre, but because we couldn't afford to be without Reddish. If nothing else, for his defense. We won't know what the real Duke without Jones looks like until everyone else is healthy. If it were Reddish out indefinitely, you might have had a point.

I see adjustments being made much like 2010. Moving Scheyer to the point and adjusting the way the team played. We still have 3 top 5 draft picks playing on our team. Nobody should feel sorry for us and we shouldn’t feel sorry for Duke. K will figure it out
