I don't like the idea of recruiting guys and then immediately bringing in someone to play ahead of them, but this season proves that you can't count on a freshman just because of his ranking. None of the 3 wings who were recruited can play and defend at the point it appears to me.
I can only assume that the OL coach sees that this young man is not going to play and therefore suggested he move on; or, the young man is not happy with the new coaches. The first seems more likely since Coach Diaz has made it clear he intends to bring in a bunch of additional OL. In that case...
The nice thing is that we should have 7 guys fighting to start and get major minutes: Proctor, Foster, Evans, Flagg, Brown, Gillis and Maluach, and Knueppel and Harris will want PT as well. Competition is good.
That's a nice article on Leonard and it makes you realize that he had no choice but to transfer. It still hurts though, even though we have at least two good successors at the position.
I would agree with Corey but I think under Hurley UCon is going to get there if it is consistent for 8-10 years. Too many missed tournaments right now for it to be with the top 5.
I think Indiana dropped from BB consideration a number of years ago and Villanova is in danger of doing the...
As usual a sparse crowd on what appeared to be a beautiful day. Coach Manny is going to have to get his PR machine rolling to get some people out to games in the fall.
I expect Duke will bring in 3 experienced players. I expect they will perform as well as Stewart and Power would have, or better. I expect I will also miss Stewart and Power because we thought they would stay a few years and we would watch them develop. That didn't happen so we have to move on...
I wish Mark Mitchell the very best of luck. I never questioned his motor, just that his skill came and went.
I would be disappointed if Stewart leaves only because he really loves Duke, but I guess the need to play right away and not fight for PT is the motivating factor. What gets me is, as...
So what will Henry do if he is odd man out?
I can see a path to playing both Grayson and Maalik during the season in different situations (though neither fits the Connette package criteria), but disaster has to happen to get to the third QB. Not that that hasn't happened before.
We also need...
I suspect that if we get Brown, Stewart is gone. If that is the case, I would feel badly because Stewart brought a lot of enthusiasm, but we can't kid ourselves. If he had a big year, he would be leaving, so we gain nothing from keeping him.
Tyrese and Caleb is a dream back court in my opinion. Caleb shot over 40% from 3 last year and I think Proctor can get to that level as well. And they can be a shut down defensive backcourt. Need one more guard--Roach or a transfer.
Perhaps Kentucky intentionally wanted a guy who will not be bigger than the program. I for one respect the history of this program tremendously and I still consider them to be the bluest of bluebloods. I know nothing about Pope but with the tradition and NIL they have, if he is a good game day...
